Ignorant salesmen
i don't understand how somebody could possibly be selling cars they don't know a damn thing about. i went by the mazda dealership on sunday and saw that they had almost the exact 3 that i wanted and decided i would go look at it last night. i told the guy i was looking to buy in about 2-3 months and that i was interested in test driving the blue 3. he told me that it was just sold and asked if i wanted to drive another. i said sure i just wanted to see how it drives. so we go out to the car and he says "you'll have to bear with me. I'm not too familiar with Mazdas". so i'm driving along in the car (which drives great) and i start asking him questions about the car and he knew nothing. and not only is the guy ignorant but he's got the personality of a duck. no sense of humor or people skills whatsoever. when we got back to the dealership he gives me a brochure, his card, ***** little handshake and says give me a call when you're ready to oder one. i told him i'll be sure to do that i had the same thing when i bought my truck. the guy didn't know anything about the damn truck. i kept asking him questions and he'd say i'm not sure about that, i'll have to check on that, or i think so. is there anyway i could buy a car without having to deal with these **** for brains salesmen??

NO, becuase they are in it for the money none of them are actually enthusiasts (spelling?), but every now and then youll find one that knows a good bit about the car unless they are forced to know or they have different salesmen for different cars on the lot but any other time...YOURE SCREWED unless you get under the hood and what not to find out for yourself...thats why i went to my local chevy dealer and told them to pop the hood of a new Malibu MAXX LS...hes like why do you want to see under the hood.. i said i have my reasons..

Yeah, that pretty much sounds like the same kind of salesperson we got when we went to test drive the Evo. Although he did tell us that there were after market goodies we could get, even if he had no idea of the performance value of the car!

I went out a few weeks ago after work with one of my employees to help her look for a car.
She was looking for used...stopped by a VW dealer, they had a nice SER Spec V, but the salesman of course knew NOTHING about them. Every time my girl had a question about the car, I answered the question for her. It was kind of humurous, but I didn't honestly expect the guy to know too much, being a VW salesman. He basically just sat silently in the car.
Then we took out a Jetta 1.8T and the salesman never shut up the entire time. At least he knew what he was trying to sell, though!
BTW, the 1.8T Jetta is a total dog. Thank god she didn't buy it.
The Spec V was pretty nice, though.
