I think my new muffler might sound like ***...

Bought a new muffler for my P5 from NOPI. It has a 4.5 inch end on it, man it is big. I am very worried that this thing is going to sound like a teenager in a Honduh.

Guess I can just take it off if it does.

Buying mufflers is so hit and miss, never know what it is going to sound like!

The thing that seperates this board from others is that for the most part if people don't have any kind of constructive comment....they don't say anything. I was one of the 12 views and I thought to myself "yeah, he's pretty much right...hit or miss."

Now what would be the point in me posting that?

Give it time, you'll get the flow of how this forum works!!

I was also one of the 12 views, and thought the same thing. I also thought, wow, you didn't realize the muffler you ordered had a 4.5" tip?! But it not's really constructive to post that, either.

As has been said before, part of the reason this forum SEEMS quieter than others, is that most people don't use it as a chat room. I personally prefer the layout of this board better, and the replies you usually get tend to have more accurate info in them rather than a bunch of fluff. Also, I'm on a dial-up connection at home, and this board runs MUCH faster than the others, although even at work on my dedicated T-1 line I can notice a real difference between them.

But, "fluff" is fun as an OT should be, chat room? Bah I don't buy it.

4.5 is the tip bro, you see many mufflers have larger ends than they have pipes.

Just don't remove the resonator, then it'll sound like crap... at least in my opinion.

leave your resonator on, as previously stated...should still keep a nice deep tone. If you remove the resonator then it gets that buzzy honda fart can sound

Ceej your car does have a resonator...its in the exhaust piping right underneath your passenger seats...some people call it a "pre-muffler"...leave it = deep tone...remove it = bumblebee in a tin can.

Yeah, people usually the resonator thinking, if it's louder, it's gotta sound better. Now hurry up and put that muffler on and tell us how it sounds

he he I thought you guys meant the muffler had a resonator. I will be getting the muffler on it quite a while. I have to wait until school is out for summer. About five weeks.
