I have a question for everyone
hey I was wondering how old everyone is on this site & how old where you when you got hooked on tuning?
why I asked this is because from what I see on here everyday it seems that there are a lot of 10 year olds. this site is here to share tech info & stuff not hating on each other all day long, with the little buddy, buddy crap.like when I'm back on my normal site DSMTUNERS we work together if someone need help we don't start hating or cry use the "search". It may say newbie under my user name but I'm far from a newbie.
my age 30. I got hooked back in 89 when I got my 89 mirage tubro

21. i had a dodge dynasty when i was 16, so obviously not then. i upgraded to a nissan frontier because the damn thing kept breaking down in my senior year. i got my pro5 in Aug 2001, and about 2 months later, met some peeps who were into tuning, and since then, i've been hooked.

Would a fresh dog turd (hot or cold), by any other name, still squish between barefoot toes?
I think most people likely realize that the "title" is in reference to the Forum, not one's existence.
Unless, of course, the Mods develop some sort of examination with which to rank members.
Now, that would be fun!

I'm 18. I've been surrounded by car lovers basically my whole. My god-father has a '94 5.0 (Just sweet), 2 of my uncles are into BMWs, one into motorcycles, and another uncle who thinks he's on a race track everywhere he goes.
My first car was a Tempo at 15. (YUCK!!! ), but I got a brand new 2000 protege LX at 16 I like ALL types of cars and I wanted a '92 Mustang or a 200SX for my first car, but oh well. I LOVE my pro now and I'm NEVER trading it in. I'm keeping it since it trully is my first car. I'm into muscle cars and imports, and I started hooking up my car last summer. I just can't wait till its "complete". A lot more work coming this summer.

21 years old. I've loved cars all my life.
The tuning probably started when I had my last car, a '95 Contour SE 5-speed. All I did to that was put on dual mufflers/exhaust.
Well, ofcourse I had the tunes as well.

23. My old man used to take me to all the old car show back when I was a kid and I liked them but I never really got into cars alot until grade 9 1993, jesus it was 10 years ago already?? I met my buddy brian who was all into it and we talked cars all the time. I used to read Hotrod magazine and Carcraft, and Popular Hotrodding all the time so I was into the big V-8s and stuff, I still am, but until I own a car with one I'll be playing with my Import. I got my Pro in August 2001 when I was 21, just before I started college, and looked for performance parts for it, and couldn't find a damn thing, but my intention with whatever car I got was to make it alot faster than when I got it, so no matter what I drive, its not fast enough.

I'm 34 and you guys had better respect your elders!
I've only just started upgrading my P5, It's my first new car and I'm kinda nervous about screwing something up(everything's so...NEW). But I've been tinkering with cars since I got my first one- a 914.
Since then, Ive played around with a coupla Toyota 4x4s, my old
Starion(good fun!), then a Jeep Cherokee, a really sorry Subaru, now my Mazda.
It's kinda weird now that I look back, cornering, off-road, cornering(sort of), off-road, now back to cornering.

well as for AGE....I am older than dirt...but only by a little bit...
in other words...old enough to be your father....at least for any of you that have posted so far....MY DUAGHTER is 21.....and I was older than all of you so far when she was born. :{D
Tuning? well that is just a term for modding cars.....also refered to buy us OLD FOGGIES as hotrodding.....
I have been doing that longer than all of you so far have been alive....
my FIRST hotrod/tuned car was actaully a truck....a 1941 Ford Pickup....had a 1940 Merc 21 nail flathead in it....was bored and stroked...had Fenton racing heads and headers on it...an aluminum intake with a 750 holly double pumper sitting on it...and it would run like an ape with its a$$ of fire....
I built that one in 1975.....and its been nothing but cars for fun since..... :{D

Sir Nuke, I hope you don't take this wrong, but I think it's pretty cool that a guy your age is modding his little compact car. Your daughter is a lucky girl. Most older guys I know that work on cars are hot rodders souping up Chevys. Personally, my dad drives a Tahoe where the only upgrade is the golf clubs in the back and the wine stains on the carpet. So to ya and keep it up!
