Angry I have had such a bad day!

Last night, the left side corner of my back bumper got scratched by an SUV. It peeled of a little bid of the paint and left some white marks there. The bumper also got a little bit pushed in-ward.

Then, at 5:00am at this morning when I drove back to my home from my friend's place, since there were virtually no other cars on the road at all in my little town, I
drove a bit faster than usual.
Just 1 block before I am back to my house, I got an speeding ticket for $247 dollars.

What is that cop doing so early on the street when there is nobody there at all?

Sorry to hear about you day. That must have been unexpected having the police man there. I would imagine that between 2 and 4 AM would be a risky time to speed, but 5 AM is late. At that time people partying the night before are either home or passed out at the party they were at.

could not talk your way out of getting written up?

been rainning up here in mass again......spent the whole day inside except for going to the gym. was going into boston tonight but think i am going to stay in. watching TV alone tonight. GF is working and she ius pissed at me for lots of reasons anyway.

women can be difficult sometimes......she is working tomorrow night, too. i get another day to relax and not be around her.

sorry for getting off subject.

anyway.....sorry to hear about your day.

How do you talk a cop off not to write you the ticket?

I have been pulled over numerous times. Have a good driving record and that helps out in situations where you break laws while driving. For the times I have not gotten a ticket, I have gotten written warnings (three in towns around my area). Have had two tickets but went to court to try and get off of them in trial for my mass ticket, and in a mediation trial from one I got in HN. Had to take a safty driving class (4 hour) though. It ended up being a skid school class, which was fun. You have to try and BS any officer when you get puled over to a certain degree with out going over-board. You have to at least take it to litigation after a ticket is issued. Good luck. Sounds like this could hurt your premium on your insurance. Sorry again.....

Well, I am pretty confident that my driving record isn't too bad.
This is my 2nd speeding ticket since I have gotten my driver licence in 1998.
I got my 1st speeding ticket during July last year.

Now I need to prepare myself to go to court so that I don't need to pay that much.

But I do worry about my insurance.

I am sorry.

I wanted to ask about how to repair the bumper too.

Should I go back to the dealer to ask for the paint number (laser blue) or any body-shop will do?

Obviously there are people there at 5am like yourself. You gotta know not to speed in the morning, they are always looking for people who are getting home from parties.

well most states have certain laws relating to radar and other things that you can use...most states require that cops get their radar calibrated everyday or ever couple of days (check the law in your state but it should be once every day or two), then you can go down to your local police station and check to see if it was calibrated within the alotted time (according to the law) and if it wasnt you just present that information and court and they have to dismiss it...another thing is that if its under 10mph over the speed limit you can try chalking it up to error in the rador detector and the cop potentially moving when taking the speed, changing what your actual speed is and between the two you might be albe to say that you were really going the speed limit...most importantly show up for your court date and dont just admit it and pay the fine because a lot of the time the cop doesnt show up in which case you can get it dismissed (sometimes they reschedual it and you have to show up again and if they dont show up a second time it gets dismissed)...and if they end up enforcing the ticket you can always go to traffic school to get the points removed from your licence and the insurance premiums wont go up (that is if you havent already been to traffic school in the last few years)

Let me check to see if WA has this type of policy or not.
I am not even sure if I can take driving school instead of paying the fine or not.

oh you still have to pay the fine and pay for traffic school but it ends up being cheaper than your raised insurance

Yes, I understand.
What I need to find out now is whether WA has such policy of taking driving classes to replace the ticket or not.

make sure you check the radar detectors calibration records...its public record and more often than not they dont calibrate them that day

How do I do that?
Go to their station and ask for it?
Or they will have some place for me check it out?
