i bought a speed6
yeah...I gave up on trying to fight with the wife about the 2000 996 Carerra. She agreed to let me modify the speed6 and in return I wouldn't buy the porsche.
Seems fair to me. all I had to do was pout and mope for 3 days.
SO....
I ordered the MS CAI and I'm about to pick up the CP-E catless downpipe. those 2 mods should put me right around 270awhp and 300awtq. Then it's time to up the boost about 3-5psi or so.
If I end up paying the car off faster than intended (i usually do) then I'm considering the ATP turbo upgrade depending on how fuel management works out for these cars. I'd like something proven and reliable before I plan on going past the bolton stage.
However, if I get REAL bored for a mod I'm thinking about getting the COSWORTH intake manifold for the regular 2.3L...I'd like to see how well it responds to boost. It's an AWESOME NA manifold.

I am patiently waiting and hoping for a Mazdaspeed RX-8. There has not been an RX 'speed release and I think it's time.
Well, 2007/2008. I might be able to afford one then. In any case, 'speed or not, there is an RX-8 in my future.

There is a beautiful 05 RX8 GT with sunroof, leather, heated seats, 6disk, hid's, sport package here in town for $17,990...it has 41K miles on it.
The car is white. Yes I have it now...It's the one I put my deposit on...then got my deposit back on...then I said "F-it...I need a new car so this is it."
As of today it's in the dealer getting the power loss reflash and a new purge solenoid valve. I also think I have the startings of a rear end whine from the rear diff.
The rear diff is connected to the driveshaft via an electromagnetic clutch....that clutch should NEVER spin the rear diff unless I'm in AWD mode...It sounds like it's spinning all the time.
p.s. the car only has 200 miles on it in a week.

It appears I need to clear my history and cookies at work from now on!
the powerloss flash is just that... POWER LOST. I'm very pissed off. No more bottom end...and only slightly more top end.
Oh well, the intake goes on next week and the exhaust is about 3 weeks away so we'll see how it does then.
