Well

I was driving along from Maryland to Hampton Va, And along near Richmond Va, The speed Limit is 65 Mph but lots of people dont obey that law and go about 70-75 ya know.

One Ford Expedition, Another Nissan Pathfinder, My Protege 5
!!! And a Kia Sophia where all chained along going about 80 mph

Its around to 2:10 am and suddenly 2 cops come up from some dark corner and speed up and one gets in front of us and the other gets in back off us and got all for of us.

To make this short because i KNOW i was speeding and deserve a ticket blah blah blah

They just gave me a paper with a court date, no ticket, and now i have to drive all the way to Richmond Va to goto court which is a 2 hour drive.
Why did they have me goto court ? ****First Time here**** Why couldnt they slap me with a fine i had to pay and let me go from there, why send me to court to have to pay then ? I was got caught going 83 in a 65 at 2:10 am
Whats the advantages and disadvantages of going to court ?
This is my first time going to court for a ticket lol

 

The disadvantage is......NOW the state will probably not only charge you the fine for the speeding ticket....they will also charge you for the COURT TIME....so mo money for them! less money for you...not to mention your time to drive up there and back.....

But thats so true though. The situation sucks but hey there nothing i can do about it except pay and get it overwith and buy a radar dector and slow my *** down lol

i would say to the judge that we were all going along in a safe line, no one of you were impeading traffic you were just going with the flow, now say you were in the middle or front of the pack and was doind the limit and they were all riding your *** cuz they wanted to speed then your impeading the flow of traffic hence more likly causing and accident, plus it was 2 in the morn! sounds like cops being ****** to me

I was going the speed limit when I saw (insert which car was behind you) coming up on me fast. I thought that he was going to change the lane but he didn't so I had to speed up as he was tailgaiting me and I just wanted to avoid the accident.


Oh yeah, also mention that you're a student or that you live on your own, or whatever there is that will make you look poor so that they might reduce the ticket and give you a longgggg time to pay it. That's what happens here, my friends have all gone to court to dispute their tickets before, I still haven't *knocks on wood*
