Unhappy Hooking up our cars aint cheap!!!

A couple of reasons i got my '00 lx:

1) It wasnt expensive.
2) it looks good as ***
3) not very many people have them lookin nice

Now the thing thats buggin me is that any little thing for our cars costs an arm and a leg, and for a person like me that has to pay for a lot of ****, it kinda sux that i have to wait to hook up my car. I wish there were more companies out there that make aftermarket parts for our cars.

Can yall tell me y yall got ur mazdas???

Angry

You ought to try to buy aftermarket parts for a limited production car like the Prowler.

What do you need to mod on a prowler? I'd keep it stock. That's a cruising car, not a racing car IMO.

Another expensive car to mod is the 3000GT VR4. We are in the process of rebuilding my dads & even at my price, Im paying tons for some of this stuff. and even fewer companies make parts for it than the Proteges. So far, only 2 good exhaust systems & they both retail for over 800.00!! And Im not even wanting to see what its going to be if we have to do some turbo upgrading on that thing! Its bad enough doing the new clutch, exhaust, intake, & just the tune up is going to be like 400.00 with us doing all the work!! Talk about an expensive car. I want to do so much more to that car cosmetically once we get the engine back up & running but after all the money we put into that (and my Pro5!) we wont have any left to make his car look better (which wont take much!) Now that was the last of the supercars! Twin Turbo, AWD & steering. Stock like 320HP. And the price wasnt much more than my Pro5 (it was about 4 years old at the time we bought it) If anyone is looking for a good racer (aside from the RX7 which I want to buy once the 5 is paid off), go with the VR4!!

The Mazda is not that bad cost wise, but if you think that it will be as cheap as parts for a 73 Chevy Nova your wrong.

to find stuff look at http://mazdamotorsports.com/

and where are you from?

You think prices on parts for the Protegé is bad? I want a fiberglass hood for my other car, $800 plus paint and install. Carbon Fiber for the Protegé, $450. Headers - $800, I wouldn't be surprized if headers for the Protegé were less than half that. Strut tower brace that doesn't require drilling - $130. Cam $330 - FSZE Intake Cam $129.

Sure they make cheap stuff for Hon-duh's but a most of those low priced goodies are also low quality.

I GOT MY PROTEGE CAUSE IT LOOKS NICE AND CAUSE THERES NOT ALOT OF "OLD" PEOPLE DRIVING THEM LOL. IM JUST SAYIN THAT THEY NEED TO MAKE MORE AFTERMARKET PARTS FOR OUR CARS. WITH MORE PARTS COMES MORE COMPETITION. WITH MORE COMP. COMES LOWER PRICES

Guys

I'm sure most of you know that it's all a bout demand. We are in a small group compared to the hondas. Aftermarket companies are not going to start producing a lot of parts , because they feel sorry for us. And wahtever little they produce is going to be expensive until the Protege group grows. It's the same for all cars. For RX-7s there are all kind of aftermarket parts available out there, in the other hand there are not as many for a Protege. Yes, both are Mazdas but the demand is greater for the RX-7. I knew what I was getting into when I got my MP5. It's going to take time, but I'm sure that eventually we are going to have many parts available. It was the same way several years ago when the Honda craze started. Probably most of you are too young to remember, but the hondas went trough the same ordeal.
