Man your kidding right something serious to take off-road. Is not a Liberty. Try a nice used or new Discovery. or at least a wrangler. not the liberty. darn thing doesnt even have a full frame under it. just like the grand cherokee. but the cherokee classic does tho.
I don't know what you mean about the frame. It is not a unibody vehicle. Don't want to live with the discomfort of a Wrangler. Don't want to own a used Discovery (or pay the outrageous cost for a new one). So if you look for a serious off-road vehicle under 25k out there that is not a pickup what are you left with? Either the Wrangler, which is an ancient relic, or the Liberty.

Part time 4 wheel drive = 2 wheel drive most of the time and can be engaged into 4 wheel drive. There is no center differential so driving in 4 wheel drive all the time is not good.

Full time 4 wheel drive = All 4 wheels driven all the time. This is made possible because of a center differential.
