Heating & AC

This is a question that doesn't relate to Mazda whatsoever, but since I know there's a lot of knowledgable people here I thought I'd ask anyway. My dad has a 96 Dodge Caravan, and his heating and AC just started gettin screwy. It only works on the highest setting and the switch isn't the problem. We tried replacing the whole pannel but that didn't do anything, so if anyone's really familiar with vehicle heating systems please gimme some tips on where to start looking for solutions. Thanks a lot!

eh, not really. I don't have a job book in front of me. Inside the dash is a box with a big fan in it. the fan is called the blower motor. It can go out and frequently they'll go out long before any switches or wires do. Depending on how much the parts cost the labor probably isn't THAT bad. If you drop off your glove box you can see the blower motor in that big black box. getting it out will be tricky because it's a cramped space but nothing that should be beyond a shadetree mechanics grasp.
