grrr...ever been shafted on ebay?
has anyone ever had probs with ebay? i bought somethin from one of those "stores" on there and he had a pretty good # of positive feedback (maybe like 1/15 said he was slow out of like 1100 total feedback). so i paid with paypal doin a xfer from my bank account. they get my payment but tell me they dont have it in stock, so i ask for a refund. they tell me to go through paypal to get it...i file a complain w/ paypal and paypal says "yea...they certainly do owe you money...but we can't do anything about it". so i tell the company that they still owe me money and they just putz around saying BS that they're broke right now. And now i look and in the last 2 weeks right after i bought it there's been like 20 negative feedback on the guy and he's no longer registered with ebay.
anyone know any way i can get my $ back? it's only about $250 but that's still a decent chunk of change... any one had probs like this before?

I've been selling and buying on there for years, and I've only had a couple of problems with people not sending the money. Only twice have I been burned by sending money and not getting the product or my money back.
If you bought something that costs $$$ use a (crap...i can't remember what they are called). They hold the money for the seller until you get the package, and if its what you paid for they send the money to the seller.
The other thing if you don't want to do that is use a money order.
I had a guy stiff me on a product and I went to the US postal website and emailed their fraud section and told them about what happened. I could prove that he got the money order because i kept my copy and called Canada post to ask if it had been cashed. they said 'yes'.
I got my money back after a month or two, and the guy got a letter from US post saying that if he did that again he would be charged (US post sent me a copy of the letter they sent him).
Basicly its buyer beware.

Dude that sux! $250 is large when you lose it!
LOL Bomber! I think they call it a "credit card", or something like that. Even though PayPal wants you to get verified and use your bank account , I still plan on using my credit card for payments. That way if there's a dispute, you can let the card company step in and handle it. Normally you won't get charged if you have a valid claim or don't receive the product.

For a lot more detail than I am willing to go into here check http://www.paypalsucks.com/.
I still use Paypal, but it always helps to be informed.

I just flat out will NOT buy anything from Ebay. I've heard enough bad things about people getting screwed through that site that I'm not willing to risk it myself. I've only bought a few things online... and those were from places like Sears or something, not an individual seller. It's too easy to rip someone off online-- and I'm too broke to risk my $$

remember...never buy anything online using your check number, money order, etc. Only use Credit Card. The CC company give you 1 statement period to refuse charges. This is standard practice. Does your bank over fraud protection? They literally stole a check from you when the debited your account. They can chase after paypal for this.

No i remember what its called now. Escrow. Thats the word I was looking for (brain lock).
If you use a money order you get the post office involved. Its mail fraud if they cash the money order and you don't get any product.
