Actually, east is the correct answer. As is north, south, and every combination of the three. You said "Which direction would you go to get to Canada?" not "Which direction is the quickest way to get to Canada"

Southermost point in the US is the South Point on the Big Island of Hawaii.

The westermost place on Earth in Wiamea town, Hawaii, on Kauai's west side. If you go any further west, you end up in Japan...in the East!


EDIT: WRONG!!! I googled it and the westernmost point on earth is West Point of Amatignak Island, Alaska. oops.

 

Pochnoi Point, Alaska is th eastermost point in the US.
