MATTY:
Hmmm, what webs we weave?
Remember what I told you about losing a game early and losing a game late? Losing a game early gives you a wake up call and allows you to make the necessary corrections. Granted, UM should not have lost to FSU in the first game, but regardless when you start strong and get beat in the homestretch, especially by an unranked team...you drop hard i.e. FSU.
that brings us here, I told you FSU would fall per our conversation. Now, the new rankings as of this morning are:
College Football Rankings
Week 8 AP Top 10
RANK TEAM RECORD PTS PVS
1. USC (57) 6-0 1617 1
2. Texas (8) 6-0 1566 2
3. Virginia Tech 6-0 1495 3
4. Georgia 6-0 1426 5
5. Alabama 6-0 1306 6
6. Miami 5-1 1278 7
7. LSU 4-1 1201 10
8. UCLA 6-0 1085 12
9. Notre Dame 4-2 1020 9
10. Texas Tech 6-0 1007 13
Hmmm, well Hopefully VT has an upset along the way and makes our life (UM) a bit easier, but I still take Miami by 7 and the way they handle Temple (and the called the dogs off in the 2nd qtr) it just goes to show. We could have opened up all the bag of tricks and probably scored 60 or so points. It was 34-3 at the half...I mean c'mon! Kyle Wright threw four touchdown passes in the first 19 minutes, leading No. 7 Miami to a 34-3 victory over woeful Temple.
Devin Hester ran one back from a kick off, even after running backwards for a few yards! The kid is 1/2 man 1/2 amazing! Hester caught the ball and started to his right, stopped and went back to his left, eluded a tackler, turned around and sprinted down the right sideline.
"He's really an exciting player," Larry Coker said of Hester. "He's gaining more confidence every week. He's a special talent."
I whole-heartedly agree.
ACC Championship here I come.
I'm really looking forward to coasting the rest of the way:
10/22 Ga Tech 12:00 PM We should STOMP them
10/29 UNC TBD Breeze
11/05 at #3 Va Tech TBD Challenge game
11/17 at W Forest 7:30 PM Breeze (& I'll be up in Salem if anyone wants to hang out)
11/26 #23 Virginia TBD Might be a handful, but we should handle them.
Jax, Florida...here I come!
