.........Under my own name! I was on my parents insurance since I had my drivers liscense, and today I finally got my own.

I got it from gmacinsurance.com. It was really easy to set up and purchase a policy. There were some stupid quirks that I didn't really like (you can't get comprehensive without having collision, etc.) but for my purposes I've pleased.

I low-balled all my coverage except for damages to someone else's property, and or someone elses medical costs. I don't really care about myself that much, I just want to make sure if I was ever at fault, I would have enough coverage for someone else. So unless I run into a Bentley or something, i should be good to go.

I paid it in full for 6 months (that's how long my terms are) and it was $358. I'm pretty happy about that.

 

congratulations man. Its allways good when you can take care of yourself, did your insurance go up since you are not covered by your parents anymore?

 

Nope, my new insurance is a bit cheaper. And of course their insurance is now cheaper too. It's win win!
