Enzo Ferrari

Yeah, I know its a Protege forum but did anyone catch the Autoweek article this week over the Enzo Ferrari. That thing is the most awesome car I have ever seen. 6.0L V12 producing 660HP and 485lb-ft of torque. Top speed of 215mph and 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. Paddle shifters and a stability control system tuned by Michael Schumacher himself. The entire body (seriously the entire body top and under the car) generates downforce (although at higher speeds it actually aggressively reduces downforce). Plus if you buy one (this isn't mentioned in the article but I saw it in another one) you get a matched luggage set and a racing helmet signed by the great one himself plus some other goodies. Not to mention that the seats and pedals are actually fitted to you by trained Ferrari tailors.

Check http://www.autoweek.com. At this time they haven't put the article on their website yet.

And the cost. Well if you have to ask you can't afford it. Oh alright $670k. And only 300 or so are being made. So get in line.

Good luck finding one for 670k. In the classifieds in the back, there's a ad on a right hand side page, for 1 million.

A sweet, sweet car though.

I orginally thought it was ugly also, but it's grown on me. Can't really argue with a F1 street car. After reading the article, I can actually visualize myself driving one

Now, I need play the lotto

Yeah. I saw that too. I had actually heard they were all spoken for already over here so I'm kind of wondering how those people got ahold of one. Standard Ferrari policy is to set up a waiting list but give preference to those who have already been good customers in the past. They don't really like people flipping cars for extra money but maybe Ferrari actually allocated those guys one or something. Usually they would just "forget" about that person the next time a special car came around. My bet is that "Black on Black" is on the Ferrari short list of companies they don't really like and some rich old fart is just trying to make a few hundred grand.

Wasn't there some court case a few months back regarding the 'gray market.' Ferrari didn't want people in the US to buy cars and sell'em right away. If I'm not mistaken, the ruling was Ferrari can't stop it from happening.

All the cars are spoken for. Dealers and the general public gobbled them before they were even a prototype. Hell, Schumacher can't even get one Sure

The Enzo is a schweet ride, for sure, but I've got 4 words for you:

Sa
Leen
S
7

Massive AMERICAN muscle in a sleek, Euro body. That is one awesome piece of car. I could do without just a few of the little vent/body styling things - but what a shape, with braun to match:

Oh, yeah - and my Aston Martin Vanquish is on order:
They're giving me an excellent trade-in value on my Protege5, as long as I throw in my soul and my left ********, too.

Oh, to have that kind of cash to toss around. Life would certainly be more interesting......

The gray market case with Ferrari was people importing non-US spec cars and upgrading them to meet US spec. Ferrari did not want people doing that and the court told Ferrari it could not stop them and that it was all perfectly legal. Ferrari hasn't done it yet but Porsche is starting to put anti-rollover clauses in their contracts for special cars. Oh well. Can't afford any of them anyway. Nice to dream though.

And I bet Schumacher can have one if he asks nicely enough.

I'll post pics when I get back regardless.
Have a great time. I can't wait to see the pictures.

Has anyone seen that new F-60? It looks like..... I think they messed up big time on that one. Plus the F-50 looks a million times better

This is the car we're talking about. The official name is the "Enzo Ferrari".

Whoops, Motor Trend called it the F-60. Anyway I would much rather have a Koenigsegg CC 8S, because it looks better and Its less than half of the "Enzo Ferrari", its also faster than a McLaren F1

I wouldn't mind one of these. Saw one in person in the Hamptons.
