Drive Right, Pass Left

Drive Right Pass Left

"The Germans may have lost two World Wars, But they know how to use two lanes." ahahaha ...

for those of us who hate people using the left lane when they aren't passing.

Definately agree, where it's possble. Seattle freeways are designed so screwy though sometimes you cant stay to the right, what with all the left-side ramps and appearing/disappearing lanes.

The system of driving at the right
and passing at the left is why
the Germans have the least accidents in the
Autobahn. Because, there is no weaving in and out
of traffic, there is less chance for accidents

They should implement this rule in the US
but, as mentioned by Opus,
there are exits in the left lane, which will cause slower
moving traffic to go the right lane

Yah, zee Germans are definately crazy about the Autobahn and its laws, like always driving on the right side, and you will get fined if run out gas on Autobahn! You know when a Porsche will blast past your 155mph limited BMW, Mercedes, or Audi!

I think Florida is the worst culprit of left lane hoggers. EVERYTIME I get on the road, there will always be a grandpa/grandma in the left lane going either EXACTLY the speed limit or under it. If you come up behind them, they ignore you. If you try to pass them, they think you're a bad driver. It's a no win situation.

You know, even if I'm clearly speeding, and someone comes up behind me, I will most likely get as a courtesy as long as they're not purposely trying to **** me off. I'd like the same in return.

After flashing my headlights at left lane people that go under the speed limit, I kindly proceed to give them an extra strong retina damaging high beam dosage. It works.

WHAT THE HELL! I went to visit my brother up there. WHo the hell designed the roads and the road signs? It's probably one of the worst systems I've ever seen!!

That aside...fortunately when I do my long drives it's usually on the 2 lane freeways, out through the middle of nowhere, so the people know the rules of the road. Just when I start hitting big cities this gets annoying

The reason they have fewer accidents in Germany is because it is an expensive pain in the *** to get your license. And violations of the laws are more severely punished than they are in the states.

Texas has had a drive right pass left law on the books for a few years now. It hasn't helped one bit, people still hang in the left lane even on rural interstates with no left exits. It's an interesting law because once you enter a city like Houston it is suspended and anyone can drive in the left lane.

Yeah, Seattle freeways suck. Half our roads are ready to fall down, the others are just jammed full. Heck, you can see the rebar on most of I5 through downtown.

Don't you just love when a car is going the speed limit in the right lane and the car in front of you in the left is going the same speed on a 2 lane road? That makes me so furious. I usually ride their *** until they look up and then I motion for them to get over. Do old people think driving in the left lane makes you cool or something?
