need help tracking this guy down. I bought an autoexe front spoiler off him three weeks ago and I've hardly heard from him since.

The phone number he gave me is bogus and he's already got my $250.
I now have no way on contacting him to ask where the front lip is.
I've looked at his posts and he say's he's 16, but then he wrote me an e-mail saying that he had to go away on a business trip, so he'd be out of contact for a while.
He sold me an autoexe lip painted silver, but his posts say that he has a sedan, and I don't think the lip fits on the sedan.
I'm not sure what to do, so any help you could give would be much appreciated.

Or checkout the local import message board that's pretty large.

good luck. i was going to buy something from him a while back and put a deposit and changed my mind and he wouldn't give back the deposit. i emailed him acouple of times but he never replied

Hmmm....seems this guy may have deleted the thread linked in the first post - I'm guessing that's where some of the details of the sale were listed. Destroying evidence, are we?

Don't worry, quik. This guy is a moron, and tracking him down will be simple as pie. If you get the cops, help them with some good info:

Get the guy's IP address, if possible. Best thing is if he's on a broadband (cable, DSL, etc.) connection, becuase dial-up IPs change each time you dial in, but broadband is always the same.

Really all you need to do is make sure you save the emails from him. Any computer knowledgeable person can find this idiot by checking the properties in the email - if you want to see for yourself, just highlight the title of the email in your inbox or wherever it is, and then right click, and go to properties. Hit the "details" tab - see that mess? There's a ton of info there, and it will all help to track the ******* down.

All you really need is the guy's email address - the cops can then find his internet provider, and the cops can get the guy's personal info from them no problem.

Stick with it, you'll get him. Let us know if we can help at all.

I did a little tracking of this guy for you.....

btw....for him to advertise on the net and defraud you of your money is an internet crime...and punishable....I am sure that with the proper authorities, his ISP will help, seeing as how he used their services to perpatrate a crime....here is his ISP's contact information for you..

good luck tracking that guy down! check to see if the vancouver police has a cyber crimes unit. they should be able to help find the bastard!

 

since you KNOW his name...and you KNOW his ISP...with a warrent....the authorities can find out EVERY thing in his account. which will include his home address...... :{D

 

for those of you that didn't know.... if you EVER have the guys ISP number...you can usually find out the domain name of that server...

all you have to do is open up your DOS box in windows...and at teh command promp type in TRACERT, put a single space, then the IP number and hit enter....it will start tracing the hops...up to 37....and most of the time the LAST line that appears will have the domain name in it....

write that down.....

then go to a "whois" site and run the information through their data base and you will get what I got for this guy....his ISP's address, phone number...and a contact point...

many of the "whois" sites will allow you to run the same information with the IP address too...so no need to do the trace with dos.

:{D I use to do this for fun to track people I was talkin to on the net...just to see if I could find out their REAL names and addresses...and sometimes their phone numbers...lol it was fun!!!!

 

Together, we're going to catch this guy. On top of that we've scared anyone who thinks they can do the same thing to someone else.
