Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, FL
Anyone been there? Supposedly there are white sandy beaches and emerald green waters.
I'm taking a trip to this part of Florida with 4 ladies (2 I work with) at the end of this month and just wanted to make sure that I didn't miss anything "important". So, if you know of anything I need to do or see...HOLLA.
BTW, we are 5 females all piling in the same room together. Thankfully I'm not high maintenance otherwise this could get really bad...

I lived in Destin for about four years before I was divorced. It's a nice place, although the real estate build up is just crazy. What you heard about the beaches and water is true, they don't call that stretch of coast the Redneck Riviera for nothing! There is a place called The Track along Hwy 98, they have several different go-cart tracks there (my favorite was the slick track, you can slide all over the place). As for things to see, none that I can recall but then I wasn't around much due to my job. There is a bar/restaurant called AJ's that isn't too bad, you can sit and look out over the water if it isn't too cold. Oh yeah, it does get cold there this time of year so take along some warm clothes. And watch out for the snowbirds, their driving sucks!

Weather says it should be 60s-70s, water temp average 64, for the month of February.
We'll be there Wednesday through Monday...I like the idea of just sitting on a beach with a drink in my hand
