Day at the zoo

Day at the zoo
So today, being a glutton for punishment, I was a chaperone for my youngest son's field trip to the zoo. Third graders if you can imagine. It actually wasn't that bad, except for two of the other chaperones (women) who sat behind us on the bus and yapped. Everyone is telling the kids to keep their voices down, and these two are practically yelling. I wanted to say something but was afraid the one directly behind me would sit on me (yes, I went there...deal with it!). At least I got a break from painting the outside trim on the house.
Best thing was the first show we saw, they had a cheetah running after a teaser. That thing was FAST! Smart too, he knocked the thing off its track instead of following it to the end. Grace in motion, seeing it on TV cannot do it justice.

I have heard that about the Pittsburgh Zoo. I haven't been to Cincinnati Zoo in forever (like when I was a kid), I will have to try to make it back again sooner. I just need some nose plugs for some of the smells!
Funny you should mention that about the gorillas, at one point my son and I were checking out some monkeys and the other people who were there were making ick noises about one of them peeing. Come on, this is nature. I wonder what they would have said about animals answering nature's other call.
