Damn Mazda Employees

Maxx, I want to paint my calipers soon. Didnt you say you used Tremclad brush-on paint? How has this held up? I may try some Duplicolor High-Temp Engine spray paint. I was thinking about spraying the paint in a can or bowl, then brushing it on. What do you think about this?

First off, don't try brushing on the spray paint. It's really thin. (It has to be to come out of the nozzle.) I tried that, and it was just a disaster. The Tremclad has held up like new. In fact, I even painted the lettering right on my engine, and the paint on there held up like it was just painted. For only $3 / can at Home Depot, and in such a variety of colors, you can't go wrong. I used the "Fire Red" and it matches my P5 perfectly. You don't need that "high temp" stuff from anywhere. The Tremclad is just as good.

I used to work at a dealership, and I was entrusted with the car of customer's cars quite often, some of them were pretty fast and so on, but I always thought to myself "If I **** this car up I'm fired". On the otherhand, lot cars I, like most of the other employees drove them pretty hard on occasion. I laid a strip with a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Daytona 500 Pace car # 1 of 2000.
Thats about all I did with it though, most of the lot cars I just went fast on, but didn't smoke the tires or anything like that.
I never did that with customer cars because of things like this:
