Figured i'd try something new.. just a place to rant about stuff!



i'll start...

I'm headed to work today down Hwy 72 (divided 4 lane). I'm running ~ 65-68 in the fast lane... this tahoe got in the lane behind me and follows me for a whie passing slower vehicles... then.. i dunno why.. for some reason puts his bright lights on for a good 4-5 seconds(flashes 'em once or twice) and goes out to pass (i'm running 67ish in a 55)... i'm like.. um.. i dont think so!.. i drop to 4th, zoom up to XX mph, then slow back down to 67ish and then stop at the next red light... the tahoe slows doesnt try to pass again and quits riding my bumper... in fact probably starts running 60ish? b/c i slowly leave him still going 67ish... go figure!

Then, i merge onto the 10 loop, there are a car / truck / big rig in front of me... i put my blinker on , get in left lane to pass.. car waits to my bumper is right @ his bumper... gets over.. not blinker.... geez! i honk the horn to let 'em know i'm there... they SLOWLY pass the truck / big rig .. didnt even get over 55... then just stays in the left lane...

So, like, I was walking to work today, like always. I'm crossing the street, in a crosswalk, with a bunch of other people, and this lady cuts right in front of me. Well I decided not to throw my coffee cup at her car. Durn Honduh drivers!! And beige no less

Ok, well I was driving down Hwy 72 in my Tahoe in the fast lane, when I came up on this guy going 65~68. I followed for a while hoping he would get over so I could get by, but he doesn't. So I flashed him a couple of times with my lights, but since he doesn't move over I decided to pull out and pass him. Well, he obviously trys to speed up because his car belched out a ton of blue smoke. Got me to laughing so hard that I had to slow down to around 60 to keep from running off the road.

Sorry Jackelope, just messing with you since I didn't have anything to rant about today.

Had a problem with ebay:
I wrote:

DaleK, welcome to ATL...you going to start making it out to our meets? Big Cheaha meet coming up. I know you haven't been before but they are a blast.


So here's my story....

I'm supposed to be an outside sales manager in charge of a 2 store region. I'm also opening up a brand new store and have to be available (on call) for package deliveries and store set-up. The store manager of one of the stores I service calls in sick...i'm in bed on my OFF DAY and have to RUSH to the store to open it for her.

No biggee.

About 2pm I get a call from her. She felt fine when she left the store and instead of coming back and relieving me she decides to run some errands and pick up office supplies at STAPLES. She then has lunch, "starts to feel naucious" and goes home to lay down.

SHE CAllS IN AGAIN TODAY and tells me, "How's this? I'll TRY to come in sometime late this afternoon but I won't promise you anything."

I have a big meeting at 3pm where we're selling a customer almost $80K in shop supplies. Now I get to miss it all because she has a tummy ache.

I'm not her relief pitcher. Today makes 12 days in a row I've worked. I'm not being paid overly nor do I get any overtime. I'm on comission. Now that I'm not able to go out and call on my customers I'm not making crap.

I'm pissed.

Not so much of a rant .. but kind of. It's more of a "silent kill" than anything, but here it goes anyway:


So I'm on Hwy 218 last night around 10 PM about to take an off-ramp into town, and I approach a blue Subaru STI. I get kinda close to him and he punches it down the off-ramp, so I follow behind just for ***** and giggles. Well he gets down the stop light at the end of the ramp right as it turns red, so he stops and expects me to get behind him. But .. what he doesn't know is that I know that area a little better tha most people, so I take a right on the red and whip a U-turn around the little island divider in the street going accross and proceed through the green right in front of him. The opening in the divider is only about 15 feet away from the intersection so he can practically see my turning around right in front of him

Next thing I know, I see him turn left on the red and punches it to try and catch up to me. So now we're on a pretty straight 4 lane road, and he finally catches up (not that I was really running away to beging with ..) and wants to race me. The passenger rolls down the window and he's like "Let's run 'em!" So knowing that I'm about to get stomped by the Subie, I'm thinking HELL NO ... but ... hehe ... my radar detector starts to beep slowly...

So ... I roll down my window and I say "Alright, let's go on three" and I honk my horn three times. By the third honk my radar is almost going at full blast and I can see the outline of the cop car coming our way in the other direction. The speed limit is 35 and I'm just cruising at the limit but I switch to tiptronic and get it into 2nd just so it doesnt' look like I'm about to puss out. He downshifts, I hear the turbo spooling like mad, and he punches it pedal to the metal!! So he takes off like a bullet and I slowly shift back up to 4th and continue going the speed limit. About 3 seconds later, the cop turns on his lights, makes a U-turn at the intersection and takes off after him. And I cruise by with a smile on my face .. hehe! Silent but deadly .. don't **** with the Fox


Anyway, not so much of a rant as I said .. but he did **** me off a little bit. So I guess it counts for a small rant.

Well last night i got on my room mate for piling his pizza boxes and the rest of his trash next to the kitchen trash can and not taking it out, for about the third time in a week.

Needless to say I got home today and found that he had dumped every trash can in the house on the floor of the tv room and spread it out nice and evenly


I responded by rubbing dog **** all over his key board. . . try to get that out

I'm down here in sunny south FL taking a Fast Rescue Boat course that is required by the new company I will be going to work for (hopefully soon). Today was our third day, things have been going pretty well but today was not so good. Won't go into all the fun we had out on the water, but the ultimate was when we were practicing search patterns. Manny, Moe and Jack were up, and through a series of miscommunications were not able to properly run one of the patterns we covered in class in the morning...twice! And I may have to work with these guys sometime. Oh well, won't be any worse than some of the gems I have experienced.

Thanks for the invite. I'm likely a pass on the meets - that's normally not my sort of thing, but I'll keep track, you never know! I like keeping up with everything on the board(s) though, as I still quite enjoy my P5 and most of the folks that hang out here! Plus, I like being 'one of the old guys' - I think I am one of the few who signed up for all the P5 related boards before all the splits happened. Still here....

No rant for today - I wouldn't know where to start :P

the cheaha meet isn't like any other car meet. It's a weekender. We go camping at the state park and drive the mountain. At night we go into town and eat sushi/bbq etc....then we cruise into town and make fun of the local ricers.

We grill out, camp out, hang out...there's usally a big food fight, bottle rockets stealing of paddle boats etc.....it's a good time... we're not just hood poppers.
