$71,500 for a camaro? Thats cool that they gave the money to a charity rather than GM. IF GM made more on a Z-28 than Porsche does on a 911, I would be a little upset.

Where I live it is obvious why Ford sells more mustangs than GM sells camaros, firebirds, and corvettes. It is because the stylin of the mustang draws in both male and female buyers. When I see a mustang, 3 out of 4 times it is a female. GM's design doesnot offer that same appeal to women. Even my own girlfriend said she likes the mustang but thinks the camaro and firebird are ugly cars (the vette is a different story, that is pure $$ issues). GM made the mistake of going for pure masculine muscle look and not enough finesse stylin. I would not be surprised to see a new car take its place however, rumor has it that GM is going to be switching the Monte Carlo to a rearwheel drive train w/ more hp and come out with a supersport impala that will be supercharged somewhere around 2005 or 2006. Just some info through the grapevine, if it winds up happening we will have to wait and see.

I believe it has been confirmed by GM that Pontiac will debut a new GTO based on the Holden. LS1 power, 6spd and RWD.

It's kinda a shame though. Some people at GM have the right ideas. John Moss for example is one guy who knows his **** and knows what sells. He heads up GM's special performance products dept. Something like Ford's SVT division. This guy should be head of GM. He is responsible for making this GTO a reality. I just got the latest issue of Hot Rod and they have a section in there where they drove some of his latest GM hot rods. Aside from some sick Vettes, Camaros and trucks, he is getting GM into the sport compact market. They had a normally aspirated Cavalier with 180hp and a Supercharged Sunfire with 190hp. The great thing is that the supercharger package on the Sunfire will be offered through authorized GM dealers and has a 12month/12,000 mile warranty. It comes with everything you need including hotter spark plugs, bigger injectors and they reporgram your Computer. All included in the price of the kit. Now if they could just get some designers who had a clue.
