That was good! although having it say I was sabatoged made me think it was a virus-not cool

I could not see the last three and had trouble with all but the first. But I knew that I would fail. what I never understood is what it means, since I am so color blind why is it that I can see colors fine! As a professional photographer, I need to see colors correctly and have even done color printing professionally, where seeing color correctly is critical

what it means is that there are always at least 2 colors (i don't know how many exactly). and the number that is displayed is a different color from the background thus if you are not colorblind you can see it, if you are colorblind you can't see it. if you are colorblind and you couldn't see the numbers then how can you say you see colors fine. that test proves that you can't see right.

You did not tell me anything I don't already know, I can see all the colors in the charts as matter of fact I counted eight different colors or shades of a color in one of the tests. The only thing it proves is that a pattern does not jump out at me when arranged in a visually cluttered dot pattern. It is likely I am more sensitive to color than most people, since my job requires me to be more aware of color than most. I don't see how this test has any real world application, my doctor could not even explain it, all anybody tells me is you are color blind, but I see color just fine thank you

then I don't know what to tell you. I mean you see the dots and colors but the # doesn't jump out at you like you say. It should since its obviously a different color. I guess the shade of the # looks more similar to the background to you. Take plate 2 for example, how many colors do you see?

You probably see "shades" of colors instead of "different" colors. If you canīt see the numbers then you CAN NOT be more sensitive to color than someone with average eyesight (well... maybe you are more sensitive to a particular color, but not in general).

Being colorblind doesnīt mean that you see black and white (in general). Most of the time it means that you canīt distinguish between different colors (like red and green, or red and orange for example). So you can still see colors fine... you just canīt tell some of them apart. And the fact that you canīt see the numbers proves that.

It could be that your brain has learned to recognize the differences by the shades. My father did that. He worked in marketing for years, aproving and designing ads (a lot of color checking)... but he was able to do it because his brain had learned to compensate for the color blindness.

Also, there are different levels/types of colorblindness I think. He is red-green colorblind. And I think there are other types.

A better word would be more "Aware" of colors than most people, as I do color correction for a living in my photography I have better perception of color changes than most. I have a much more critical eye to color, mainly through experience and training I see subtle changes in color on photographs that most people would not recognize.
I have been told by doctors that I was red-green color blind, well I see red and green as different colors, not "shades" as you say, not black and white, so it has never been clear to me. This test says I can't see the difference between red and green, well that is not true. So I don't know

It could be that you canīt distinguish a certain red from a certain green (but can tell most reds and greens apart, since there are so many variations of what red and green are). So you could have trouble distinguidhing the particular red and green used in those pictures, but not the rest.

My dad is red and green color blind, but he can also tell red and green apart... he just has trouble telling apart the shades of red and the green used in stop lights, but since all stop lights are installed the same over here (red on the top or right, and green on the bottom or left, depending on the orientation of the cluster of lights), he has no problem driving.

Anyway, who cares. If you are good at your job, thatīs what matters. Do you have a website with pictures that you have taken? I always enjoy looking at pictures from professional photographers.

Hmm, I have no trouble seeing stop lights and I have driven in several different countries where the stop lights are arranged differently and I only drove through red lights 12 times! J/K
The only time I have ever had trouble seeing color is on those tests, but I can see the different colors on them, I have always thought it is the confussion of the different dots all over the place plays tricks on my eyes.
