Certain to **** off American servicemen
In the Detroit News recently, there was an article stating that the UAW is banning Marines from using its parking lot in Detroit, if they happen to be driving a foriegn made car or have a Bush sticker on the back.

Now, I don't know about you, but I think a Ford made in Mexico is a lot less American than an Accord made in Ohio or a Camry made in Kentucky. I also think at a time when Americans are dying overseas, it is ridiculous to be petty with something as stupid as a parking space (which are in abundant supply in mostly empty downtown Detroit). And, I will bet that not every dues-paying UAW member voted for Kerry, just like not every Marine voted for Bush.

Not to stir the political toilet but if the UAW wants to impose certain rules on their own personal parking lot they are allowed to do so. I do not agree with this by any means but I do agree with their right to protect their private property.
Now.....if that last sentance made sense to you why wouldn't the next statement I'll make??
I don't agree with their actions but I respect their constitutional right to perform those actions. Similar to the situation with Kerry when he said I don't believe in abortion but I support a womans right to have one. Or when he said I'm a christian but I believe my job as president wouldn't be to enforce my personal religion others....let them have their own freedom of religion.
If this were a "who should be president" debate Kerry would win. If it was a "who should be our moral leader" debate.......well you see how that turned out.
just one last point....
can we PLEASE bring back Reagan??

I voted Kerry. I just think that our Marines deserve a little more respect, regardless of what their political views or automotive tastes may be. If I can drive my Mazda to a UAW plant and park it in the visitor parking, perhaps somebody putting his life on the line deserves the same amount of slack.

What the heck is that? As much as I agree with the observation that those guys can do that stuff on their private property, it just ain't right. Those "requirements" are quite pathetic, I mean, really pathetic. I chucked in a vote for Bush for all you that care. And I'll agree with Hughes that those soldiers put their lives on the line every day, and that's more than a whole lot of us have done/do now/will do. My hat is off to our servicemen and women.
C'mon! These people die for your freedom UAW people! The least you can do is welcome them back, yet you ban them for a car or a sticker? Lol that's retarded. Whatever.

The UAW admits they were wrong...

...and even in Detroit, we feel they were wrong.

i read on sh*tbegone's website that they will discontinue selling products to "red" states...isnt that like cutting off 75% of america (territory-wise) from spending money on your product? yes, as the name implies, they are in the toilet paper industry. i suppose they would rather have democratic scat smeared on their name.
i agree w/ roddimus that they can set the rules for their own parking lot, but in the same respect, should they be allowed to say immigrants cant park in their lot? we tread on a tricky line between taste and personal rights.
on a side note; personally i think we should stop looking for the "next Reagan." thats what we were hoping for in the 1st Bush, but that didnt work. now the democrats are constantly searching for the next "Clinton." shouldnt we look to the future instead of the past?
