Question Car Shows

After looking through this site for a while, it seems that NO ONE shows thier cars!! Does everyone just fix them up to drive and to take to the local store? I know i show the damn it out of mine every chance i get. I just want to know if anyone else shows thiers! Also, has anyone ever been in a magazine either?

Heres a link to my 2002 MP5

I feel your pain, I asked the same question last year. You and I have the identical looking car. I don't have it any more I traded it for a mazda speed, but your car looks sharp nice work. If I find a pic I will send it to you. I had the TV's and the whole bit. It is nice to see someone yellow with big chrome rims. I had the only one in AZ. I hate Gunmetal Grey.

The CPC (evn though are Pros arent tuned up that much) should be heading to a few show and shines this summer...no real popular shows come our way (HIN IREV, NOPI etc.) so we make due with what we can go to

Are you kidding? It seems that the majority of the people on this forum are trying to make their car "prettier". Enhancing the interior, installing new body kits, dressing up the engine bay, painting something, etc. Kinda sad, IMHO. It'd certainly be nice if that majority used the money that they spent on show to make the car faster (sorry, intakes don't make the car faster).

However, that's my opinion. Use it as you like.

I know what you mean, I've been looking for Proteges at all the car shows we go to for the last two year (since we bought ours) and have been very disappointed in what I've seen. That's why we decided to go completely show with our ride and hopefully get it into a magazine either this year or next. The car is still in the body shop right now getting a custom molded kit put on it and a paint job, next it's off to the stereo shop to install the stereo and hopefully monitors, and hopefully after that new interior. We've also possibly got a sponsor lined out to do vinal graffics for show also. Other than that the rest of the car is either done or just needs little things here and there. We're hoping to show it at Hot Import Nights in Seattle in July since that's one of the biggest shows on the West Coast. We're hoping to maybe get some magazine coverage at the show if we can get a good display together and everything.

Im actually impressed that i got a reply to this! LOL TO me it just seems like people on here only try to impress the local 15 year old! LOL I know protege's are at shows cause there were several of them at Nopi in ATL last year. I was in the MA Audio booth and had tons of Pro owners came talk to me. You can look for me in the Bazooka booth this year at Nopi ATL.

Also if you find the Jan/Feb 03 issue of Carsound & Performance Magazine, my MP5 is on the bottom of the cover and a 3 page feature. Its also getting shot for Euro as soon as i get it rebuilt. Already got that lined up!! HEHE

Carsound and Performance Cover

It also showed up in 12 volt news......

That's good to hear there are more Proteges in the show scene on the east coast. There definatly aren't many over here on the west coast. I have seen a few Protege 5 but not very many Sedans. I'm jealous you're going to NOPI. We were trying to go this year but weren't able to make it. We're hopeing we'll get to go next year.
