she's like a bond girl....she's just there so there's not an all-male cast. nothing more.
ok, so here's the good stuff.... The batmobile is....REAL. All 4 of them!
I'll hit the highlights but there is a LOT to read..
5.7L Chevy Engine tuned to go 0-60mph in 5s (carrying 5000lbs)....so estimate about 700whp.
Rear end from an 18-wheeler
front tires are hoosier racing tires, rears are 40" super swampers
The Batmobile hit speeds of 100+mph on the streets of chicago.
THE BATMOBILE DOES ALL OF IT"S OWN STUNTS/JUMPS!!!
It was designed to go 100+mph and jump 30'+ even being 5000lbs.
The Jet flame was REAL, not CG...it used 5 propane tanks for authenticity
pulled a skid pad rating higher than most all of our cars!
holy crap...i've gotta get one of those.... they said avergae cost to build each was only $250K even though they had MILLIONS in design time.

I love the new batmobile. I didn't think I would like it when I saw the first sneak peaks of it, but it's jsut so badass I can't help but love it.
I can't wait to see the next rendition of the car, and I'm very excited about the introdutcion of the batplane (if they get to it) that was always my favorite vehicle form the comics and cartoons.
I saw the movie for the third time tonight. And I still love it.

Have to disagree with you Matty... I have read copies of the original Detective Comics that introduce The Batman. The criminal that kills Bruce Wayne's parent's IS the Joker. The whole scene with him falling in the vat of chemicals is 100% accurate to the original comic book.

What Mike is refering to is the very first appearance of the joker from an orignal string of comics. Batman Begins follows the "Dark Knight" story lines. Keep in mind that comic books that have been around for decades go through re-vamps and story lines get totally re-tooled from the ground up. I can count 4 different batman story lines...not to mention the stand alone novels.
p.s. anyone play the batman game?? when you beat it you'll see the 4 main batman story costumes and you'll understand what I'm talking about.

yeah the BB game. I bought on GCN and beat it in like 7 hours. Unlocked everything....very shallow game but fun. Followed the movie rather closely. Was neat but it's a rental. You';ll beat it in 2 days if you try.
