Basic photoshop questions...Please help

I just got photoshop yesterday and was trying to play around with it, but had a few problems, its kind of hard to grasp without any help. Two questions...
Is there an easy way to change the color of a whole car?
How would you lowed a car?

These may sound like stupid questions but I have no idea what Im doing. Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would use the polygonal lasso tool to outline the part you want to change the color of. Don't worry if your selection is exact. You can add to or subtract from the selection area using shift and alt. Once you get the proper selection area, then play around with Image -> Adjust -> "hue/saturation", "levels", "color balance", "brightness/contrast." Really, there are many different ways to achieve the desired effect. There is a huge learning curve with Photoshop. Don't expect to get it even in the first month of using it.

For that I would again use the polygonal lasso tool and select the ground beneath the car with the wheels, leaving enough room under the car so you can move that portion upwards the appropriate amount without covering a rocker panel or front bumper. Then airbrush in some dark brown/grey shadows underneath. Rubber stamp or copy-paste any choppy areas from moving the selection. Again, there's a lot more to it, but I hope this gives you a place to start.

Wow, lookie there. Almost exactly what I said, but with cute helpful little pictures. And I didn't mention, but when lowering you can select the car minus the wheels and move down, OR move the ground and wheels up.

If You check out the Help Section it has a tutorial , It may be easier for you to learn Photoshop 7 or even 6 (6 is a breeze, just hard to find) . but anyhow , there is a tutorial there that you can use, that will show you around and get you knowing the basics ...

That's a cool website - bookmarked for sure!

I have a how-to book for Pshop7, but haven't messed with it too much yet.

PS - how cool is it that they use an MP3 to demonstrate the "lowering" process, and a Mazda6 for the "blurred wheels" !?!
