anyone own an atv?

After rims and my exhaust, i'm gonna go get financed for a sport atv. I'm looking at a Yamaha Warrior, or a Honda Sportrax 400EX. They both seem like pretty good bikes, anyone know much about this?

Well from what i heard both are good. I know three people that raced yamaha's. And they loved them. One in iowa, another in montana, and the last out here. So i dont think you would have a problem going about anywhere with one. As of snow. from what i have seen they are ok with light snow. but if its heavy you might have problems.

I LOVE atvs, but I've yet to own one. I plan on buying one when I graduate though.... This is basically what I've heard. I'm speaking off the top of my head, so i may get a few specifics wrong......

Warrior: Good machine, good reliability, decent aftermarket support. Engine isn't as strong because it's an old design, but it probably still has plenty of pep. Handling is pretty good. 6 spd (I think) plus reverse, electric start... not sure if it has a backup or not.

400ex: This is the quad I hear most about when you're talking about 4 stroke sport machines. I hear this quad handles great, has good power, and has unbelivable aftermarket support. I'm not sure about the start features, and I THINK it's 5 spd, no reverse.

Where you plan on riding, I think you'd be best suited with the Warrior. It still has plenty of pep, plus it has reverse for getting yourself un-stuck on the trails. Not to mention you can get warriors MUCH cheaper than the 400ex. The 400ex is a premier quad... It's sorta the Banshee of the 4 strokes.

Also, check this new suzuki quad out. It's called the 400z, and isn't going to be out until mid-year I think, but it looks like it's going to be a great 400cc quad. Maybe better than the 400ex..

Suzuki Z400

That is the quad I'm looking at, I can't wait until someone reviews it. Hope this helps.
