Any interesting date stories?
bored, tired, got nothin better to do but browse the Off Topic section
just checkin if anybody has any of those "bad date" or weird and interesting stories about their dating rituals, recent/past dates, or date night with the mister or misses.
nothing really interesting goes on in my life, case and point, i dont have any date stories, ive only been on 3, maybe 4 my entire 26 years on this chunk of rock.
1st date was prom nite. a friend from work agreed to go with me cuz my original date backed out. both were out of my league, 1st girl i asked couldve been the president of Mensa. i think she said yes initially to be nice, and then backed out. the girl who did go with me did it to make me feel better and dont get me wrong, it was a fun night. but i was sure she had another guy on her mind and she knew that she wouldnt see me after the summer anyway.
2nd date was with my only girlfriend. we never really had any alone time, we usually hung out together with friends. 1 "date" at the beach and that was about it. just a meal and hung out with friends as usual. it was long distance for a really long time but she broke it off cuz she wanted to concentrate on school and getting her post-grad degree.
3rd date was a double date that was set up thru mutual friends. the girls were ok, we took 'em bowling which wasnt their cup of tea. i thought bowling was one of those universal things were everybody could have fun whether they were good or not. guess not. the rest of the night became an awkward 20-questions "where do you want to be in 5 years" deal. i dont even know where i'll be in 5 days...let alone 5 years. nothing else really happened.
most recent "date" was a disaster. my best friend (nice try, she's married) that i work with invited me to drinks after a long and hectic day. it was right after we had moved our entire office to another location. we both needed to unwind. unfortunately there was a bit of drama with a co-worker who got a little too drunk. some things were said to her, and i didnt hear it all cuz i thought it best if i didnt get in the middle of it. but it went on for a few hours at the bar. i stayed with her so she wouldnt be uncomfortable and we ended up driving the platered co-worker back to his house. when we drove back to the bar she started balling and when we parked at the lot, she just rested her head on my lap while she collected herself. i didnt know what to say or what to do, so much for just havin a drink. guess this is the closest i'll get to a date in the foreseeable future--and it wasnt even a date.
there you go, diary of a playa. i KNOW you all have some better stories than that!!

This is going back a-ways (like 26 years...damn I'm old!), but I took this girl out roller skating. She was cute, looked a little like Pat Benatar but without the overbite. Anyhow, we are skating along holding hands and she kind of trips. Didn't fall down but she wanted to sit down. We went over, I asked if she was okay and she said her neck hurt a little but I should go skate some more. I did two more circuits of the rink watching her the whole time, from the look on her face I said I better get her out of here. We stopped off at a restaurant on the way home for some water so she could take some aspirin. I got her home okay, but she was walking like her back was a straight rod of steel.
I found out later from my sister (who knew her from working at the mall) that her parents had taken her to the emergency room for muscle relaxer shots. Needless to say, that was the last time she went out with me!

Not too long at all, maybe 30 minutes tops IIRC. Don't know if she just had a lot of stress, didn't want to be out with me in the first place, or what. It was definitely one of those situations that can make you question yourself. Luckily I didn't go down that road.

wewt for being the 21 year old ultravirgin!!!
p.s. the one-on-one was with a depressed chick I meant through my doctor's office (psychiatrist).. srsly. She was way cool, but we went out finals week in the spring, talked a few times during the summer, and I haven't seen her on campus since :P
I suck at this stuff hardcore. I'd need muscle relaxers just to be able to go on a date with my anxiety through the roof as it has been for weeks now lol

hmm.. cant think of much off top of my head.. i do remember when i was dating my wife, she tripped going down a HUGE hill @ the park, slid all the way down it on her stomach... fun day! riiighht..

well... there was that one first date when I had "relations" in my car in 8 degree weather (I'm from the south, so I don't want to hear any northern dwellers say that isn't cold). Didn't have enough gas to idle, but thank god for that warm blanket.
