Another Artist gone..

Yet another rap artist sees a horrible fate.

In the early hours of the morning Proof, a member of the rap group D12, was killed this morning after a conflict at a local club/bar.

http://music.msn.com/music/article.a...20881&GT1=7702

My question is.
Why do things end this way?
Do these things happen in any other part of the entertainment world.
or is it pretty much on this side of the music?
Its a shame that another one has died like this.

However I say this because
Proof was my favorite of the group and I listened to alot of his music.
and him now being gone, seems unreal.

just some thought.

More:

Rapper Proof of the hip-hop group D12 was shot and killed this morning at an illegal afterhours club on Eight Mile, police said.

Proof, whose real name is Deshaun Holton, was dead on arrival at Conner Creek Medical Center in Detroit, according to a spokeswoman for St. John Health System. He was 32.

Proof befriended Eminem long before he was a houshold name, and was a nearly constant presence as the rapper rose to superstardom. He toured with Eminem as his on-stage hype man, was a member of his group D12, had a bit role in the "8 Mile" movie and served as the best man at his wedding in January.
An unidentified 35-year-old man, who was shot along with Proof, is in critical condition at Detroit's St. John Hospital.
Police were called to the shootings around 5 a.m, following reports of a fight and shots fired.
The club where it occurred is called 3C, and it's at 8 Mile near Hayes. The club isn't illegal but it was operating illegally after hours.
This is the second shooting involving Eminem's entourage in three months.
Another Eminem affiliate, Obie Trice, was shot and wounded New Year's Eve while driving along the Lodge Freeway.
Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to call Detroit Police at 313-596-2260 .

i never understood the fascination with rapper deaths. thousands of people die a day and it never makes CNN. apparently i pissed off another person in a different forum poking fun at the redundancy of the situation. i dont have a problem with rap as music or rap as an artform, but i have a serious problem with a number of rappers calling themselves "artists"

Ok....
The only reason I called him an artist is b/c its a more formal term.
Im more to call them a rapper than an artist but I did that as a formality..

My fascination with his death?
not one..
last time I checked to didnt have to be fascinated to be sad about something...

well i meant media fascination, and then celebrities in general. big names in the industry seem to get front page treatment, but obituaries for the common people are usually stuck in page 80 in the sphincter-tainment section. i understand people use the term "music artist" as a formality or mainly just a job title for people, but there are plenty out there where i disagree associating them with that term.

theres always going to be conflict on whats considered "art." in the end, art is just a form of expression, and Rap 'artists' are indeed expressing themselves. but, as a musician, i cant look at these 'artists' as musicians. Rap is not music, as the the word explains itself... RAP = Rhythm And Poetry.

"People don't kill people. Guns kill people!"

Actually think of all the other people that make headlines...The guy from the Beatles, Kurt Cobain, Versace, JFK, Dj Jam Master Jay...I mean...honestly, it's not just rappers who get shot & it wasn't like the said people above were in any sort of "beef"...so quit being ignorant.

The man is dead, he made his living rapping...RIP Proof.

Actually from what I read it was an arguement that led to the gun fire.
Not sure if that counts as beef or not but anyways.

Of course I never saw myself as trying to ignorant.
I was just letting it be known for those who actually listen to that type of music.
thats if they even knew who he was but.

like you said.
whats done is done.

look. im gonna tell it to you straight, most rappers dont grow up in suburbia heavan. all in the cities, conflict before their contracts, mix tapes an lp's wont leave just because they do, an the attitudes wont either

i saw this isht all the time in rockford, an even anded up with problems myself.
ive stopped the freestyling lyric writing life because we moved, but my problems dont stop
its more to do with street cred an pride, gettin taken down happens

Maybe this is why I listen to everything BUT rap music...

Rappers get in an argument and someone ends up dead....

Anyone else gets in an argument and they usually become enlightened about the other point of view and end up sharing a beer afterward.....

Rappers are stupid.

Did you just compare a gangster rapper to JFK and John Lennon? Seriously?
