Arrow I agree!

Dude! I'm so glad someone else out there shares my opinion: I think at least the new Civics are butt-ugly. Don't get me wrong-- Honda's are still excellent cars (as are Toyotas), but I just think the new Civic sucks in terms of appearance. Geeeeze. The new Civic can't compare to the Protege; our cars look far better.

The new Corolla? I considered a Corolla when shopping for my new car, but the current, pre-2003 model design is simply too boring. I think the 2003 is an improvement, but what's up with the fake wood paneling on the interior!? Maybe they'll include artificial wood siding outside like on 1980's station wagons! You know chicks dig that wood paneling, big time! Heheheh...

The antenna is cool-- Mazda should do that standard on the Protege.

Also, it looks like, at least in the picture, you can get a Corolla with leather. Wish that was an option in the Protege, personally.

Sorry. Its sux....as with all the rest of Toyota's latest models. I think Honda and Toyota are running a contest to see how much they can f*ck up the looks of their cars. Remember the Honda and Toyota of old.....late 80's to early nineties?
Agreed 120%

Well, to give some credit, it does look better than a Honda Civic.

well most entry cars coming from japan are sucking. the prot is still amazing looking, the new lancer is ok, only if you've seen the EVO, the sentra is ok, but why did they scrap the SR20? everything else coming from there is just hideous.

The new corrola looks hella tight! I can't stop looking at it. But my P5 rocks! I like the whole wagon thing. Specially the way it drives. Toyota build quality is as nice as mazda, IE the p5 fit and finish it top notch. I like the looks of the car, but the fact that it is made in the US/Canada, sucks. The other thing is MAZDA is taking the world by storm, with the RX8 and Atenza. ZOOM ZOOM baby!

I have to say I disagree. The new Celica ROCKS. I actually traded my 2000 Celica for my P5, but I hated to give it up (financial/familial reasons). It looks great, handles extremely well, gets great gas mileage (31mpg and I beat the **** out of my cars), and is a BLAST to drive. But a lot of Toyotas do suck. The new Camry sucks- especially with the new Altima out there and the Mazda 6 on the way. The new ES300 is just plain strange lookin. The new SC is well... interesting (but not too altogether terrible). The RAV4 is way overpriced. The IS is cool (I'd still rather have a 3-series bimmer). The LS is nice, but boring. The Avalon looks like a mistake. The Highlander is funky. The corporation is very mixed- they DO have some good models, but overall I think they're arrogant and out of touch. They seem to make whatever they please simply because they know people will buy them because of the reputation for quality... BTW I've had NO problems with my P5 in 7 months... that's not something I could say of my first 7 months with the Celica.

I think the Matrix went to a new dimension, but went too far. Protege5 can be a family, sporty, fun car.. but the Matrix.. is very .. unique.. I don't know what to say. If there're people that love PT Cruiser, I'm sure there'll be people that love the Matrix. but personally.. I love the Protege5 way more.

No contest!!!! If you're deciding between the P5 or the corolla , definitley go for the P5. I agree with the rest. Looks like an echo/camry. But then if you lookin at the new celica..............

yeah but usually none of the lexus designs fall down to the toyota line...unlike nissan/infiniti. till recently i guess, the new camry resembles the new lexus...the corolla just resembles and oogly car...and the mismatched lexus stylin makes it even ooglier

the new corolla looks okay, i kinda like the back of it. it does look top heavy though.. why the hell do they have to make cars that look like bubbles? it's ugly.
