Protegé Vs. Neon

I ran some searches on the internet with no luck. Can anyone tell me how my 2.0 liter 4-cylinder 130hp compares to a 2000 Neon? I can't find any 2000 Neon engine specs!!

Dogg, don't be afraid at all. The 2.0 protege will crush a 2000 Neon.

My god-brother had a Neon before his cuz recked it about a couple months ago. We always hungout and raced Everywhere! Let me tell you, I have a 1.6L pro with 107hp his hade 125hp, but his was a lot heavier. 0-60 he had me by like a headlight, but once I hit about 70
I would slowly, very slowly pass him.
And this was before I did any mods to my car.
It was almost mandatory that we raced every Friday and Saturday night. Whether to the movies, ESPN Zone, or just chillin. Of course you now the 2.0 is faster than the stock 1.6L.
Trust me, it was a normal thing to race at a street light. Almost forgot, I have an auto..

Dude, are you telling me that you could pass a neon with your 1.6L automatic????
Do you think I am stupid or what the hell????
You know its impossible!
I used to have a 95 neon with sohc engine, and i would have kicked your *** big time,I will never buy your story boy, never.
whatever the year, any neon can kick your **** easily.
I dont mean to insult you,but I dont believe you can kick anyone's *** with your 1.6L auto protege.
I had one for a week,as a loaner,And even my wife was pissed.
With my 1.8L pro,I race my friend who has my former neon,he has headers on it,and our cars perform exactly the same. And we are both fast.
I'm not buying.

Pro Vs Escort

Well I don't know about a Neon, but I do know that a 1.6L Protege Auto..will blow the doors off of a 98 Escort 2.0L Auto. I am really not into racing, but me and a guy I worked with raced our cars one night, and mine beat his from the stop light. Yeah, the 1.6L Pro's are SLOW, but I don't think many people give them enough credit. My Girlfriend has a Suzuki Esteem with a 1.8L and my car still seems to have more power then hers also. And those cars are even smaller then Pro's. Any way just thought I would give you my input.

You MUST NOT know how to drive. We did this every weekend. I Know what the *** I'm talking about. Neons aren't that fast. You act like it was an R/T or some type of fast sport car.

Do you think I'm stupid?
hmmm, maybe

The only thing he had on my car was top speed. His about 125, mines 110. I don't really gibe a **** if you believe me or not.

I have a 96 2liter neon automatic and those damn little cars are fast as F*&$ SOHC nothing no it bone stock low line not the Highline edition 2door.
My 58 ghia with a1776cc motor could stomp all over your 1.6 liter 1500cc, and mine is not even a 1.5liter.

The diference between a standard neon and an auto one is night and day. Their auto tranny is amongst the worst ever.

Yeah. I always wanted a 3-speed automatic. Good thing you can still (unless they changed it this year) go to Dodge and buy one.

Neons are garbage. As someone else said, the automatics are universally despised and scoffed at. My brother has a 98 Sport which is decent at 150hp...but reality time...ALL CARS SLOWER THAN 16 SECONDS in the quarter mile feel the same I would get the Mazda, strictly due to the reliability and build quality advantage it has over the Neon. There's not point in worrying about speed at the Protege, Neon, Civic level.
