Didn't BMW sell a one cylinder car at some point in North America?? I believe it was called the Isetta.

So you defeat the purpose of saving gas by installing big rims and tires ,,, so just go ahead and do the engine swap .. I learned then when I took off my 16's
Br

I did not know that

but on earlier question, yeah, just wondering about what is available today. I mean, I don't mind learning some history, some of those cars I never heard off:p

Yes, they did, and you got the name right. It's actually the car that saved BMW from utter financial ruin after WWII.

And it turns out that I was wrong about the Subaru 360 having the smallest engine... the Isetta was available with a 13 hp, 298cc, 1-cylinder engine. :bt:

I talked to derrick at Corksport and asked is the KL-ZE swap possible in a pro, he said yes but it'll take $7700 to do it. I could have this by the end of the year if I try really hard for it. My question to all of you is, is going from the slow 103hp 1.6L to the 200hp V6 worth $7700? He'll need my car for 3-4 month to re-do the engine mounts and to pretty much squeeze everything in there and to get it to work with no problem.

The reason why I'm seriously considering this is I have 2 friends who did a j-spec prelude engine swap into 2 civic hatches. 100hp to 200hp and man are they fast. They lost their A/C but they don't care. Derrick said I'll still have mine, I can't live wthout A/C. So, what do you guys think?

redrims April-14th-2003 06:44 PM

Hell Yeah.

I was going to do it at first, but then I decided that I'd rather get a new car.

But I think its more than worth it. Plus that engine has far more potential than 200hp.

P2K April-14th-2003 06:51 PM

That's what I was thinking. I'm probably thinking too far ahead, but is there a turbo kit for it?

redrims April-14th-2003 07:14 PM

yeh, I'm pretty postive there is.

KL-ZE project in the works!!! :D

My friend had a 2.5l Probe GT. It was a NA beast and getting close to 300hp if not more. A true sleeper because he had no exterior mods done.

108 hp, which doesn't sound like a lot until you consider that it's installed in a car that weighs less than 2100 lbs with the spare tire and jack removed. :D I used to own a 91 Si, and in legal SCCA D-Stock trim (2" cat-back, K&N drop-in flat panel filter, no other engine mods) it ran a best 1/4 mile time of 15.81 seconds @ 87.3 mph, which is good enough to spank any stock Protege that doesn't say "Mazdaspeed" on the trunklid. :bt:

duncanslx April-16th-2003 03:45 PM

not to mention a stock cumstain GT
