@#$%^&^ mice!

Today was a nice day, so I decided to get in some ride time. I just got a stainless braided clutch line for my '87 1000 Hurricane and wanted to put it in before heading out. While removing the old line, I looked under the gas tank and saw what I am all too familiar with...a mouse nest (made up of mostly cigarette filters, thanks smokers!). Little sucker was still in there too, as I saw his beady little eyes staring at me. I tried gently getting him out but he didn't want to leave, so he ended up going for a ride. I saw him sitting in the second lane when I was leaving a light, not to be too heartless but I doubt he dodged traffic. I will be very happy when I have a garage!!

A Honda CBR1000F (motorcycle). It was one of, if not the, first bikes to have completely enclosed bodywork (which is why Mr Mouse liked it for a house). Pretty fast, handling won't quite match up to a modern bike but it does pretty well.

The good old Can-a-tuna! I don't know a great deal about Suzukis, but any of the sizes should be a good choice. The engines are basically detuned GSX-R engines (the oil-cooled variety), so once you get used to the bike you can find all kinds of hop-up parts (unlike my early Interceptors). As I recall the engines are fairly bulletproof in stock tune, handling is decent and the insurance won't kill you. I would recommend finding one as near stock as you can (we have all seen the results of mods gone wrong) and then you will have something reliable while you enjoy it. If you don't have much experience with bikes I would also recommend buying a smaller displacement bike, you will feel less intimidated and that will help your learning curve. Another good choice would be a 84-86 Honda 500 Interceptor. Great bikes, I raced one for a while and it is sweet. That V4 engine is nice. You can find them on eBay for less than $2,000.

I would love to find an original (think they were '82) 1000 Katana. The styling was hot and they were cool bikes. Probably won't happen for some time since I have an RX-7 to refurbish as well as getting into a house. Good to have dreams though.
