I have a 90 protege 4wd 5spd for sale in Ottawa,Ontario.. for parts due to rust....clutch done. no start.

Could you take the drivetrain from this car,and install it in a non-rusted 1st gen Protege?I ask because it seems like a pretty easy thing to do,that is of course only if the chassis are the same(why wouldn't they be right?)Thanks for your time.

Thanks Mike.I guess getting a non rusted 4WD car is the best way to go.Any idea how many of the 4WD models were made?I am guessing they made them longer in Canada,and probably sold more up there as well.
