Reprogram?

I was just wondering, is it possible to reprogram your cars computer to make the lights do whatever you want? For instance, my friend has a saab, and when you unlock the car the running lights stay on. When you hold the button for like 5 sec. the head lights turn on for a min.

If this is possible, what would I use to do it, or where would I go?

thanks

You can do all sorts of magical stuff like that with a nice aftermarket car alarm.

Plus then you could have remote start (even with a manual transmission if you get a compustar) and auto up down windows, peripheral sensors, fun sirens, etc.

really, but are those pretty pricy, or are they easy to install yourself

An absolute crazy pain to install yourself unless you'd have a lot of fun cutting and soldering hundreds of wires in your car (I do consider that fun).

It's the only way I know of, General Motors (including Saab) love having every little bulb or lock completely computer controlled to make it much harder to modify and so that they can brag about little features like that.

A lot of it is cool stuff but I like simpler electrical systems a lot more.

If you fully option out an alarm like that, yeah it can get pricey, like 700 bucks or so (installed)
