From Subaru, of course thats flywheel, but I dont see how you think that will drop to 230 or lower. Im not saying youre lying about your friend in the p5, but I drive a 240sx Sr20det (I built it up, I didnt go out and buy a 30,000.00 dollar car, more like 8,000 all together) Estimated I have about 235 rwhp (estimated means nothing but we're gonna work of this) My friend bought an STi and it rapes me every day of my life, even from a roll I cant take it.

 

actually you would be surprised how much drivetrain loss an AWD system creates....235 sounds about right,although a P5 doesnt need that much power to beat an STI...the STI is a MUCH heavier car....maybe in your case its the driver, or you are just overestimating your power output

I hear a FWD car looses about 30hp in drivetrain, and thats just 2 wheels. I can beleave it looses more, it has more to go through to get to the ground. I will go find out for sure and be back!

Tooo much funny. I will admit my car doesnt look the best out there, paint job this coming summer. But omg 100 front wheel horse power! NOOOOO, ive only upgraded my intake and exhaust and a few other things, but that doesnt matter cause your 100 front wheel horse power will own me! noooo.

 

Did you mean one of the post I put up? Because they both look like it to me, but I could be wrong. Dosn't really matter though. The poin was made. The AWD cars loose a lot of HP from Crank to the ground, they are heavier, and for less money you can be in the same HP, with the same time slips, all for around 3-4k! HUUMMM 13k on new car 4k in turbo=17, or 30 for WRX<EVO. I'll take the first one.

 

First of all watch your tone...second of all we were talking about a turbo P5 putting down 235whp vs an STI...500+ lbs is a huge difference if you are comparing 2 cars with similar power levels....3rd of all you appear to be a parrot, you just quote what you read...

ALL cars lose a PERCENTAGE of power thru the drivetrain, and it's not a universal number...It depends on the drivetrain...AWD trannies typically lose a HIGHER percentage of power thru the drivetrain,that's the price you pay for the extra traction....

you kinda put both feet in your mouth there..I have 2 cars..My Protege has 107 base hp..I have another car..My MX-6 GT puts down 150hp and 190hp to the wheels stock....but I aint stock...I have a 2.5" turbo-back exhaust,cone filter,zombie chip,and a MBC pushing 15lbs of boost...so I am more in the neighborhood of 230hp and 300lb ft of torque, and I KNOW I can run with an STI,I have...My paint looks good and I spent about $1200 total on my car including the car...so I would look better than your 240sx, and I'll be glad to race you any day.....
