Talking new to mazda, getting a speed3.

hey everyone. i'm trading in my scion tC tomorrow for a mazdaspeed 3 in either silver or red. undecided as of now. though i love my tC, i test drove the mazdaspeed and love it. i'm unsure how to break it in. any suggestions? it has 12 miles on it from the dealer and i'm driving it about 140 miles back home. thanks guys!

Awesome upgrade, congrats!

For the drive home just vary your rpm's every 30 miles or so, and try to stay off boost. I wouldn't seriously get on it till you have 300 miles or so on the engine, and I'd change the oil at 500 miles. Just use regular oil for the first change, and change it again at like 2000 miles - and from that point on use full synthetic.

If you do oil changes yourself, keep records! If you take it to a quick lube place too, keep the receipts. You'll need that if you ever take it to the dealer for engine or turbo work, and it's nice to have if you sell the car.
