New '07 Mazdaspeed 3

I searched the forums for break-in, break, break in and the like and didn't get too many hits so I guess I will post a new thread. With a new car is there much that I have to worry about as far as breaking the engine in? I was told that I don't have to worry about it but I figured I would ask here because my friend is a member of rx8club and he said its a really good community. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would just be nice to the engine for the first thousand miles or so. I'm sure it mentions it in your owners manual, using phrases like "Don't maintain a single engine speed", "Don't over-rev the engine", etc.

Of course, if there is some engine defect that will later come to haunt you, you might want to get it out of the car's system while it is still very much under warranty

Yeah it's a pretty worry free car. You did get the recall fixed by now, right? Improperly installed bolt on the transmission to chassis mount can cause some issues. If you just bought the car now I'm sure they've already fixed it, but might want to just check and confirm.

2007 MAZDA MAZDASPEED3 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
Recall Date: 07/10/2007

Summary:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE NO. 4 LEFT SIDE ENGINE MOUNT BOLT MAY LOOSEN IF A SUDDEN RAPID ACCELERATION IS REPEATEDLY PERFORMED.
