AT light when cold

I have a 2004 Mazda3 Hatchback with 74,000 trouble-free miles that has developed a transmission issue:

When cold, the AT light will not go out, even after restart. The check engine light remains off.

• Car lurches when shifting into reverse from park or neutral. No lurch when passing quickly from Park to Neutral.
• Automatic shifting between forward gears appears normal.
• Manual mode does not function properly, transmission shifts automatically instead.

After a 5-10 minute warm-up (car does not need to be driven), the AT light will go out after turning off the ignition and turning it on again. After starting, all shifting is normal and smooth. Manual mode works properly.

Note:
Dealer was unable to read codes and per recommendation, new battery installed 9/19/12. No change in symptoms.

Transmission filter, O ring, transmission pan gasket and ATF replaced 8/24/12.

When cold, ATF dipstick indicates above the 65C mark.

Thoughts?

Hi, my Mazda3 HB behaves exactly this way, did you ever find a cause or a solution to this?
