Intake question

I was wanting to get a cold air intake but im worried about the risk of hydroloc or whatever they call it... my friend was going to get one but Performance shop where he bought it from recommended a SRI because the CAI would probably get water thrown/splashed on it. What is better anyway... SRI or CAI. And do the hydroshields really work that well for keeping water off?

buy the AEM or mazdaspeed CAI and enjoy it. Tell your friend to go worry about global warming instead.

Here's a hint to prevent hydrolock. DONT BOOST WHILE SUBMERGING YOUR FRONT END.

cheers.

p.s. I suggested those intakes because I assumed you had a MS3. If you have a standard NA 3 then just about ANY intake will work just fine. Kargoboy on this forum sells quality parts as well as Ken@ ProtegeGarage.com.

Stevo -- I have a standard 3 hatch and I have the Mazdaspeed CAI and Exhaust. I asked a similar question and R.P. can the same good advise. I can tell the difference over the stock. Sounds and looks great.
