Electric supercharger?

I have a 2006 mazda3. I've had it for roughly 6 months now. I just realized the other day what an electric suoercharger was. It seems like its pretty much universal as far as application. I was wandering if it was ok to put one in my car. I want to eventually get a full turbo kit, but this looks like a temproray cheap way for a bit of boot. Any sugestions?

Those things are really dangerous to your car. Imagine a piece of plastic from one of the blades getting sucked into your intake.

Plus they don't flow enough to make any real boost anyway.

EDIT: Check out a couple of those threads at the bottom of this column.

Dude .. don't do it. I say you start out with a nice Intake/Header/Exhaust combo if you're looking for performance gains. It's not much, but it will probably be as much as that e-charger would provide .. except a lot safer for your engine.
