Clutch spring strength

Hi,

I have two 2012 Speed 3's. One I bought in May and the other in September. I have noticed that the May car seems to have a livelier clutch spring which makes it harder to drive compared to the September car. I don't think it is my imagination--could be? My first inquiry at the dealership is that this is something that cannot be adjusted. Does anybody have an opinion?

Have a look under the dash at the clutch pedal itself. Mine's an 07, but they probably have the same sort of setup on yours, which is a spring on the top end of the clutch pedal to hold it to the fully released position since the clutch isn't pushing it "up" for the full travel distance. This doesn't add much force, but they could have changed the design and cause it to feel different.
Since it's a speed model, i'd hope they put an adjustment on it like my old RX7, which had a couple adjustment bolts to set the tension and bite point feel.

Thanks very much. This is a good lead. I will take a look. -Brian
