Battery, rear brakes, front driver lock.....

I have an '04 3, about 57,000 miles and at my last oil change (mom and pop shop)I was told that I needed a new battery. I just replaced it at least a year and a half ago (which no one should have to replace in an 04 but my car had to be jumped). Now it's been working fine and all of a sudden I have a bad battery. Scam?? I'm thinking so.... on top of that they said that my rear brakes needed to be changed soon and I called the dealership this morning and they said that my rear's were in the green in May. Is it possible that brakes could go so badly so fast? My driving pattern hasn't changed. Plus my front driver side lock doesn't push in, so I can't lock the car from the inside...any insight? lol.

The last time I had posted I had acceleration/deceleration problems ALSO and if anyone can remember, it was finally fixed....we hope.

I've also been toying around with just getting rid of it and getting into a different 3 or 6 because I keep running into some crazy since Day 1 and of course I'm not even going to bother with the lemon law because it's not a recurring problem...it's every problem you could possibly imagine! Despite all of the problems I've had, about 5 or 6 of my friends also have one and they haven't had problems at all and love it...and of course I do too, just not THIS one in particular.

So, I'm debating on a Mazda 6 that just came off of a lease, a lease on a new 6, or another base 3...with alloys this time. the only thing that sucks is my insurance will probably double being a new car and all.

I just remembered something else...I have lost 3 hubcaps already.

wow well the only thing i can think of is either go ahead and put more time into it and try to fix it. but im guessing with the history of your car, your just gonna get another problem in no time . so i would just say to go and sell yours and c wat u can get for it. then put that towards a new car. its better than trading cuz the dealership always gives you the least amount as possible. at least if you sell it u get cold hard cash the dealership WANTS!! so ya GL with your car.
