06 2.3 threw a rod , replacement engines are ungodly expensive and have no guarantee they wont blow soon after install ...

i have the 2.3 out and disassembled , cylinder #1 rod, piston , oil pump , oil pan , block, and girdle cracked and bent valves in cylinder 1 ..

figured i get a new(used) block and girdle , new piston, rods , head gone through , new oil pump and rebuild it .

Questions : anybody else rebuild a 2.3 and have any suggestions or should i just wait on a long block ?

first time dealing with these 2.0 / 2.3's so any input could help

i also have a 07 2.0 engine disassembled ( spun bearings) and after review i dont know where people are getting the blocks are same as they are very much differnt internally
