Turbo nix Warranty

Turbo nix Warranty
Will adding mods (Turbo) void my manufacturer's warranty? I want to add a turbo but my 3 only has 14k miles on it. I'm thinking about just waiting until it hits the 50k mark before I do anything drastic to it so to save my warranty - advice please....

Enjoy the car as stock to 50k. It's not as far away as you think, depending on how much you drive.
You need to wring out all the potential problems the car might have and get them fixed without hassle under warranty at the dealership.
Case in point:
My Protege5 had the butterfly valve intake defect. Screws rattle loose, get sucked into the engine and destroy the engine. I had the engine replaced at 30k miles, no questions asked. I looked on the screen at the cashier and the cost to Mazda USA was $5,000, me 0.
If I had a turbo on it, they might have used it as a way to weazle out of fixing it.
at 50K miles I'm fairly confident nothing else like that is going to come up. (just hit 50 the other day!)
In general, Mazda makes mechanically excellent stuff but you never know.
