thinking of buying

Hey all
my old car is busted, plus i'm graduating from University so my parents are buying me a car for a grad present. they're buying but i have some leverage on what to get, so in the price range it's a mazda 3 or a corolla sport (which my dad wnts to get). Given the options the mazda 3 seems like a much better car, but it's brand new and thre's no feedback on the reliability of the car. I dont wanna buy a car but find out later down the road that it's not a dependable vehicle.
How is it so far for u guys?

Mazda3 is a great car. It's built with Ford platform sharing which means you get a lot more car for your buck. You get mazda handling, volvo safety, ford design, etc.... it's a great car.

Please don't buy a stupid Toyota. It's a piece of crap and you'll be dissappointed when you pass a 3S on the road with a good exhaust.

Don't you mean "when you get passed by a 3S"? Honestly, we drove a Matrix XRs before we bought the Pro, I was VERY dissapointed. I thought with 170 hp that thing would be like a rocket, but it was sluggish and very buzzy sounding, and really not a very smooth feeling motor, either. I tried winding it up a bit, but the amount of effort it took to get the car really going was ridiculous. If I had to do that everytime I wanted to have a little fun with the car, I have a hard time believing I'd get 100,000 out of it. Go with the 3s, you won't be dissapointed!

yeah, I guess you're right. I meant that when you hear a Mazda 3S with a decent exhaust go by you'll be upset!

I've been SERIOUSLY debating buying a new 3s as a "company car" and pulling it apart to help design some new parts for it. It would be a nice tax write-off for me!
