Radiator fan not coming on?
I have a 2008 mazda 3 2.0L Sport.
I realized its been a while since the cooling fan has come on. This means that when sitting in traffic the car starts to get too warm. I'm worried on hot day this could really get me in trouble.
I've run power directly to the fan and it runs no problem. The connections are good up to the 2nd plug. The first one thats right on the fan, then up to the connection right below the hood up against the radiator. Jumping power to it there runs the fan fine. From there it seems to run right into the fuse box. I checked the fuse, it is fine.
What else am I missing? What triggers the fan to come on? I've read it is supposed to come on at 230F. There is a green wire also running down to the fan. Is that a ground or a signal wire to tell it when to come on? Again, it runs into a cluster so I'm not really sure what to do with it.
