Unhappy playing the waiting game

Hi,

I just purchased a Mazda3 about 3 weeks ago and I am still awaiting it's arrival. I'm just wondering if it takes longer because I didn't get AC. I haven't heard back from the dealership. Also, does anyone know what the most popular colours are? I find the Sand Mica looks really good. Thanks!

Cheers

What engone did you get?

I got blue mica since I liked the way it looks blue, or purple depending on the angle.

I hope you like whatever colour you ended up with.

What's up with the 3 week wait though? I'm not patient, so I would have ended up dropping by the next closest dealer to pick one up.

Didn't get A/C?!?! Why!?!? And don't tell me that you don't need it living in Canada, that's just BS. A/C will help clear foggy windows MUCH faster than without, and from time to time it does get rather warm up there.

I'm not sure about Canada, but the only way you can get a 3 here in the states without A/C is to get the 3i sedan with the 2.0 engine. All 2.3 engined 3s in the states come standard with A/C.

I understand why some people don't get A/C. I didn't have it on my last car, and I only really needed it 10-15 days oer year. Still, it is nice to have. Sunroof or not.

I still can't believe it's taken more than 3 weeks to deliver the car though. That's just wrong.

Red face

well I've never had AC in any of the cars that I've owned and I've always just adapted to the heat. I live in BC and it does get hot here but I just never found the need for it. It's taking that long because what I want is a manual transmission with the power package but w/o AC. The 'w/o AC' is probably what's setting me back. They have a shipment of cars coming to the dealership today. I just found out yesterday that the salesguy that I dealt with originally no longer works there. Thanks for telling me. Not that it matters since the deal already went through. They're giving me free oil changes for the length I have my car.

The engine size on my car is 2.0. I got the GS model since they don't even carry the GX model on lot (have to order it from Japan) and I didn't even want the base model.

Tom, I believe that the i model is our GX, the s model is our GS and the SP23 (or si probably) is our GT. I've always wondered why we couldn't have the same model names but I'm not the manufacturer.

Wow, that's pretty weird. I didn't know they could still offer vehicles w/out A/C. I suppose that's probably what's taking so long. They have to specifically either a. get the car in, and then take out the A/C or wait for a special built car from the manufacturer, which would take forever I guess...

The dealer I went to (granted, I live in the US) had about 25 in stock in all colors. I bought the black mica. I love the blue on the Mazda 6, but they didn't offer that exact blue on the 3. The other blue colors on the 3 were not exactly what i wanted. One was too purple (I HATE purple) and the other was too light, so I went with the faithful black

At least you get free oil changes for life! Just make sure you keep pushing them, once the deal goes through, dealerships tend to slack off a bit.

well, I'll be getting my car by the end of this week and I had to settle and get AC because they are only making ONE in Canada without it and I would have to wait until the end of next month for it. I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG! It will either be black or the indigo ink (purpley blue). It would take 2-3 weeks for the sand mica that I originally wanted. WOOHOO!! I'm SO excited!

Im on the West Coast of Canada in Surrey (bout 20 miles east of Vancouver) about 2.5ish hours north of Seatle. I have A/C with my M3 Sport GT, it comes with air and yes even in Canada we get heat in the summer and need A/C. I love it and wanted it. I dunno why you wouldnt want A/C. PS This may suprise you but NO we Canadians dont live in igloos......yeah yeah...ok...ok...I'm kidding I know you are not that ignorant. Possibly on some models A/C is an option so it may cost you extra. Whatever Mazda you get I am sure you will like. I love my Silver Mazda Sport GT 5spd. Probably the best new vehicle purchase. If you have A/C remember in the months that you dont regularly use it (winter) you should still run it for at least 10 minutes every month. Just to keep everything working properly.

Hey N4S,

no worries about the location mishap. I have gotten my car now and am SO happy! I'll attach some pictures to this post to show you what I've got. I love the fact that I have a 5 spd. LOVE IT!! The colour I got was the carbon grey mica. I got AC w/ the power package and std transmission. Anyways here they are......

Classic Queen,

Nice car!!! I have a Mazda 3 as well and absolutely love it. It is interesting that you didn't want AC. When I bought my car I had to have three things: moonroof, power windows/doors and AC! My previous car lacked any options whatsoever, so power was a must!

It is great to see fellow B.C. people on this forum!
