One more Q
I just bought a trubendz catback exhaust w/magnaflow muffler and tip.
looks like this
The tip is just as small as my stock tip.. and isnt even visible, it doesnt extend out enough.. also my exhaust is SO loud i know im going to get pulled over for sure. like the muffler does nothing.
so i was wondering what would happen if added ANOTHER muffler, with a larger tip at the end, like this
If that would help to quiet it down, and also that way id be able to actually see my exhaust tip...
but im not sure how that would work, having the other "muffler" back there...

Unless you really want that coffee can look (pardon my French), I'd wait until you get pulled over, then you make the change you want and get the "mechanical" ticket written off after you add the other muffler. I drove around with straight pipes on my Miata for years in Maryland, DC and NoVa, and never once got the attention of any policia.

to answer your question yes it will "quieten" it down just make sure you get one that will have a lower tone cause if you go auto zone or anything under probably $300 its gonna sound just like those honda ricers we all hate...i personally would go with a 2 1/2-3" max on your tip...if you want my advice go get a borla muffler and call it a day will sound really good...

"if you want my advice go get a borla muffler"
I strongly second that advice. I've got one on my '96 Miata and a pair on the '04 Vette and they are tremendous. No drone, great airflow, great sound. Not necessarily cheap, but well worth the money in my opinion.
Regarding the double mufflers causing problems, I really can't speak for that, but I would assume that you are going to end up with additive back-pressure. I would still avoid it unless pressed to do omething.

just have them replace your current muffler with the borla 1 and go buy a tip for looks....you wont regret it....if you use 2 mufflers all that will happen is you will loose power it will restrict airflow..its a simple cut and weld to replace it for any muffler shop and pretty cheap as well and you will love the outcome

You may have clearance problems with that second muffler under your car.
Also, is a Borla that much quieter than a Magnaflow? I "heard" () the Magnaflow is pretty quiet.
If it was me, I'd dump the current setup in favor of a Racing Beat catback.

the reason why its so loud is because there is no resonator.
buy a vibrant resonator and put it in that one straight pipe.
on my magnaflow, the resonator is on the first pipe (right after the cat)
and p.s. the magnaflow is that quiet. it gets loud at higher rpm,
oh, and one more thing, ur exhaust will be alot louder when its first installed, but it quiets down over time.
