Oil type

What type or brand of oil does Mazda put in the 3? Also I believe they recommend a 5-30. Is that correct? thanks

They are using 5-20. I changed mine with Mobil1 5-20 fully synthetic and planning to use it in the future. btw 5-20 is hard to find especially in a gallon

Did anyone change their oil after the first 500-1000 miles on the engine. I have heard this is a good thing to do after the break in period.

I believe the oil they put in stock from the factory is Ford MotorCraft 50/50 blend of 5w-20. I used Mobil 1 full synth and Royal Purple.

change it up

Always have changed my oil after the first 1000 miles as a lot of wear and tear is occuring then....hence the title..break in period. I'm 27 have owned three new cars and have done this with everyone while also following strictly the owners guide recommendations about how to drive during said period.

Also, I change my oil every 3-5...not 7500...crazy

the type of oil is not nearly as important as the condition!

You can never change your oil too much....but you can NOT change it enough!
